Chapter 6 -- Interventions and Peer Groups Supervision
  Chapter 6

Interventions and Peer Groups Supervision

This chapter explores the art of making interventions in the directing situation.  A good intervention 1) lets the person know he or she has been heard and 2) takes the process one step further.

For Chapter 6 --

it will be helpful to reflect on your own skills as a director and find ways to have other spiritual  directors give you an   evaluation of your   work.

Both compliments
and criticisms are encouraged.  One can learn from both.

Pray and Reflect:
  1. Accepting supervision is a part of on-going developing for me as a director.  It saves me from becoming a guru.
  2. 90% of what I know, I never say; the other 10%, I say only at the right time.
  3. What theological matrix and psychological matrix am I in touch with as I listen to others?
  4. What means do I have for bringing the process one step further?

 Wonder and Discuss:

Practice interventions. Take a short scenario and invite several to share their intervention.  Take time to analyze the merit of each contribution.
