Pray and Reflect:
  1. Never ask a king for a small gift.
  2. The Spiritual Exercises will not work if a person or director is not willing to change.
  3. We need to love those we direct and guide them for our highest faith and hopes for them.
  4. God is at least as nice as person as I am.

  5.

 Wonder and Discuss:

  1. What would be some reasons for "adapting" the length or content of the  Spiritual Exercises for someone?
  2. Those who want to make the 30-day retreat should know how to pray over Scripture and be willing to change.
  3. Find examples for each of the Annotations in yourself as director and in your retreatants.
  4. Making the Spiritual Exercises  includes the whole ecology of the day.
  5. The role of the director of the Spiritual Exercises is not the same as that of a confessor; however, the confidentiality may be the same.
  6. Outward penance should be consistent with one's inward dispositions.
